Quality and Performance for Deep Foundation Engineering
Drilling tools are a critical factor in the success of deep foundation projects.
The performance of drilling tools plays a decisive role in the success of any construction project, directly influencing project timelines, productivity, and overall efficiency. Reduced wear, maximum equipment availability, and extended service life are essential for achieving cost-effective deep foundation engineering operations.
Drawing on decades of experience, we work closely with our customers to transform practical requirements into high-quality products, continuously improving our designs to deliver solutions tailored to the specific challenges of each project.
State-of-the-art 3D CAD design, FEM analysis, and CFD simulation tools enable our engineers to develop innovative and efficient drilling solutions. Combined with experienced production personnel, a modern manufacturing facility, and high-quality European materials and components, these capabilities ensure the outstanding quality and performance of every Hartfuss product.

Rotary Drilling Tools
For Kelly drilling operations, Hartfuss provides an extensive selection of augers, drilling buckets, tricones, belling tools, and core barrels. In addition, we manufacture continuous flight augers and drill pipes for CFA, FDP, and Double-Head drilling systems, delivering complete tooling solutions for a wide range of foundation engineering applications.
All products can be manufactured in customer-specific diameters and lengths.
Our drilling tools are designed to achieve outstanding performance in all soil and rock conditions, including extremely hard formations. Equipped with optimized cutting geometries and specialized fragmentation systems, they ensure efficient drilling operations even below the groundwater table and in fluid-supported uncased drilling applications.
Decades of practical experience have enabled us to continuously refine our cutting technologies and wear protection systems. By adapting our solutions to the specific requirements of each project, we provide drilling tools that are perfectly matched to the needs of contractors and foundation engineering specialists.
Cable Drilling Tools
Decades of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience have enabled us to develop innovative, high-performance solutions such as the spherical grab, the flow-optimized volume drilling grab, and the sand and gravel pump.
Hartfuss provides a complete portfolio of tools for two-cable crawler crane operations, including two-shell free-fall drilling grabs, spherical grabs, specialized drop chisels and percussion drilling tools, as well as sand and gravel pumps designed for efficient material extraction and drilling performance.
To ensure maximum performance, even in groundwater conditions and fluid-supported drilling operations, our grabs are hydrodynamically optimized using advanced CFD simulations.

Diaphragm Wall Tools
Working closely with contractors and operators, we have continuously refined our hydraulic and cable-operated diaphragm wall grabs and tooling. Through targeted optimization of key design and performance characteristics, we have achieved substantial gains in efficiency while minimizing wear and reducing life-cycle operating costs.
To complement our grab range, we have developed diaphragm wall chisels with optimized cutting geometry.
Thanks to their modular design, our diaphragm wall grabs can be configured to cover virtually all trench widths and grab opening capacities encountered on site, using only a small number of standard base units.
Engineering
In close partnership with our customers, we have developed numerous specialized solutions over the years, including pile inspection cages, pile base inspection systems, drilling test equipment, and tailor-made adapters designed to meet specific project requirements.
To meet project-specific geological requirements, Hartfuss designs and manufactures custom spherical grabs and drilling buckets for uncased drilling applications, supporting borehole diameters of up to 2.5 m (8.2 ft) and drilling depths of up to 110 m (361 ft).
Developed by our own engineering team, every Hartfuss product is designed to satisfy stringent static and dynamic strength requirements, ensuring exceptional structural performance and maximum operational safety throughout its service life.

Accessories
Specialist foundation engineering projects often require drilling through highly variable soil and rock formations. To address these demanding conditions, a comprehensive range of cutting tools, primarily equipped with carbide inserts, is essential. To support our customers with fast delivery times, we keep extensive stocks of flat teeth, round-shank chisels for various applications, and roller bits, complete with the corresponding tool holders.
Our extensive archive of technical drawings enables us to manufacture replacement parts even for drilling tools supplied several decades ago.
To minimize downtime and ensure fast response times, we maintain a comprehensive stock of wear and spare parts, enabling rapid support for repairs and refurbishment work.
